Vish is a firm believer that individuals hold the natural ability to change their lives in a meaningful way. As a passionate advocate for client-centered care, she recognizes that we are all navigating identity, experiences, relationships, mental health, and the systems we live in. Vish supports individuals who want to become the best version of themselves but are finding it difficult to begin. She acknowledges that change can bring new experiences, vulnerability, and perhaps difficulty. Appreciating this, Vish provides a non-judgemental space where individuals can feel heard, acknowledged, and supported as they make those first steps.
Vish holds a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto and is a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers. In her therapeutic work, Vish utilizes an integrative approach drawing on evidence-based practices including emotion-focused therapy, narrative therapy, mindfulness, and cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT). She has worked extensively with individuals and families needing support around anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, intergenerational and childhood trauma, relationship/ family issues, health issues, grief and loss, body image issues and work or school/life balance.
Vish believes that individuals are resilient and carry their own internal strengths. Her collaborative approach leans into these strengths to develop transformational strategies to move challenges into opportunities for growth and change. Vish values honesty and welcomes feedback to determine what is helpful and what is not.
