Chanel is a Registered Social Worker and Psychotherapist. Her degrees include a Bachelor of Social Work, Bachelor of Sociology and a Masters of Social Work. Chanel has over ten years of mental health experience working with individuals and families in hospital and community treatment as well as in educational settings as a mental health consultant. Her work experience is rooted in crisis services as well as outpatient mental health services supporting those with mood disorders, anxiety disorders, perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders and substance use disorders to name a few.
Chanel’s approach to therapy draws from a variety of evidenced-based modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness-Based approaches and Compassion-Focused Therapy.
Chanel believes in striving to create a therapeutic environment where you can be your authentic self and lean into the goals that drew you to therapy, all while doing so in a supportive therapeutic relationship.
